A Letter From Our Children’s Ministers:

The Spring quarter is around the corner!  We are excited about all the things they will be learning.  We really want to challenge the children in how to use their Bibles and in memorizing scripture.  Please be on the lookout for their take-home sheets each Sunday to be able to discuss what they learned in class.  They will be able to retain so much more if it is reinforced at home!

PIT is in full swing for the Kindergarteners through Fourth graders.  We want all of your children to be able to join the Route 66 Club!  Please be working on helping your children memorize the 66 books of the Bible at home.  We have made some changes in PIT.  Your child can now earn GO BUCKS, three different ways.  First, your child can earn Five GO BUCKS by learning their monthly memory work.  On the first of each month, your child will come home with a green wristband to inform you of what they need to be memorizing.  Secondly, they can earn One GO BUCK by bringing back ONE (this is a change from four) “Get Set” Mark.  This is their weekly Bible reading, that needs to be signed by an adult.  Thirdly, they can earn One GO BUCK by bringing their Bible to PIT.  At the end of the month, they will be able to redeem their GO BUCKS.  For every Five Bucks, they will get a soda or a candy bar.  Thank you for your help in making this successful for your children!

Starting in March on Wednesday Nights, the first through fourth graders will begin a new curriculum called, DiscipleTown.  DiscipleTown teaches practical skills that every follower of Christ must develop in order to grow and live victoriously.  We will begin, this curriculum with the discipline of prayer.  We are going  to use a large group format to teach this material, so you can both drop off and pick up your child at the PIT.  Parents, in order for this to be a success, we will need your help.  Please sign-up outside of the PIT to be part of the weekly volunteer rotation.  Your help is greatly appreciated!

The Kindergartners will also be starting a new curriculum in March, called  Discover Bible Heroes.  This new curriculum will allow your child to discover heroes throughout the Bible and then discover that Jesus is the greatest Hero of all!  The Kindergartners will come to PIT as before, but you will pick them up in room 301.

Fifth and Sixth Grade boys are meeting in room 202, in their Boys 2 Men class, while the Fifth and Sixth Grade girls are meeting in room 107 for Sarah’s Daughters.  They will not want to miss these classes!

On Wednesday nights during the winter quarter, babies and toddlers are combined in the main nursery room. Preschoolers (3 through Pre-K) are in the Wee Worship room (311/312) for Bible stories, songs, crafts, and fun games.  If you have a two year old talk to Jennifer to see if your child would do better in the nursery class or preschool class.

Two things coming up that you will not want to miss are:

1) Passover Celebration-This will take place Wednesday Night, April 4th from 6-8.  This is for the entire family as an important part of the Passover is passing our History down to our children.

2)  The Great Egg Hunt- This will take place Sunday morning, April 8th after services.

Thank you,

Jennifer Grimes and Amy Carter
