The Cross & Crown Ministry

Paul & Suzanne Whitmire

Founded in 2001 by Paul and Suzanne Whitmire, the ministry has assisted thousands of individuals and families with their physical and spiritual needs.

Cross & Crown continues to provide in various ways, including food baskets, a clothing closet, AA meetings, free medical clinic, after-school programs, Sunday night church, transitional housing, job training,help with addictions, legal services, etc. Several Oakcrest members support this work by providing food baskets, assisting in the “Rebuilding the Walls Program” (house rehabs for families in need), providing medical assistance, etc., as well as donating mission funds budgeted for the food pantry.

Luke Whitmire & Family

In 2011, Luke and Mackenzie Whitmire became part of Oakcrest’s missionary families. Luke serves as an integral part of the work at Cross & Crown, serving as the site director at their south location, the Christian Service Center, as well as being involved in all other aspects of this ministry. Luke and Mackenzxie have three daughters, Landree, Quinn, and Sutton.

Drew Whitemire & Family

In July of 2014, Oakcrest began supporting Drew Whitmire at Cross & Crown. Drew and his wife Amanda have two sons, Braylon and Jude. Oakcrest is partially funding Drew’s monthly support. Drew serves as the Donations Director/Minister/Mentor, and his responsibilities include coordinating and organizing all donations, whether food, clothing, or furniture, as well as working with the Oklahoma Food Bank. He is also responsible for the daily Walmart pickup of donations, which are served to the public daily/weekly. Another aspect of his focus at Cross & Crown is mentoring both young men and adult men volunteers. In 2021, Drew’s wife, Amanda, was hired as the Cross & Crown store manager and has been a major blessing.
